Suvarnabhumi Airport

A little trivia for Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Suvarnabhumi (pronounced “Su-Wana-Poom”) means “The Golden Land”.

suvarnabhumi aiport

Developing Thailand as the aviation and air transport hub of Southeast Asia is among the priorities set by the Royal Thai Government.

One of the ways this can be achieved is to develop Suvarnabhumi Airport to achieve the highest international standards, to ensure its support for the rapidly increasing air traffic demand corresponding to the need of aviation business worldwide. His Majesty the King has graciously conferred the name of Suvarnabhumi Airport which means the Golden Land and is located in Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan province, covering an area of approximately 3,200 hectares.

The Suvarnabhumi Airport, which is due to replace the overloaded and unexpandable Bangkok International Airport (Don Muang), is scheduled to open in June 2006. However, this date may be delayed until September 2006 for testing and validation by ICAO.

The ‘New Bangkok International Airport’ company was formed in 1996 but due to political and economic chaos it took six years for construction to start. The new airport has also been delayed countless times due to cost overruns and construction problems.

The new airport is located on a boggy, 3,100ha site in the Samut Prakarn province of Thailand at Nong Ngu Hao (translated as Cobra Swamp), 30km east of Bangkok. Construction of Suvarnabhumi Airport began in January 2002.

Don Muang will be relegated to domestic-only status when the new airport opens. Don Muang is currently the world’s 22nd busiest airport and the busiest in Southeast Asia, but it has already reached its full capacity at over 37 million passengers per year.

Suvarnabhumi will be able to cope with 30 million passengers per year when it first opens, a figure which will be increased to 45 million within a short space of time. Following further expansion phases, including two additional runways, it will cater for over 100 million passengers per year.

Welcome to Oman!

After a weeks of preparing things to be carried to Oman. Finally, I’m here. Thanks God for a very nice and safety trip. The things were not easy for me and also to my fellow 3 colleagues. Around 4pm in the Philippines were already on NAIA fora short briefing with our agency. I quite worried and nervous coz its my first time to ride an airplane :) . After the orientation and giving all our necessary documents like passport, plane ticket and etc. we go for check in of baggage and checking our documents.

suvarnabhumi aiport

We ride a Thai Airways, the plane and the service are really nice the steward crews are very accommodation and the foods are really good. The only problem we encountered is that are flight schedule of going to Oman is waiting time is too long. After 4 hours of trip going to Thailand, we need to wait  almost 1 day for the connecting flight going to Muscat, Oman.

As we wait for our connecting flight, us we rove around the whole airport of Thai Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. I was pretty amaze of looks of that airport. Its very big, well facilitate and the wireless internet connections is so good.

2 thumbs up for Thailand!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all! :)

Work Abroad 3

After all week of preparations.  The moment has come!

After work in the office I go straight for the interview venue. Its still every to got there I just took my breakfast near the venue. After a minute of breakfast I pray before I went to the venue.

Despite of lack of sleep and heavy work load before my interview. The must go on!

The interview located at Imperial Hotel at Quezon City and the call time is 7:30 in the morning,  I came the venue room and as I observe there already some of the applicant were waiting for the interview. At first, I observe, look and listen. Most of the applicant were masteral and Phd. holder to cut the story short. The panel interviewer just in the other room and preparing for the interview. Most of us were nervous and I tell my self Ill gonna give my best shot ever for this interview.

After a long time of waiting for my turn I’m on the hot seat. The interviewer(most them are Arabs) seems nice and relax opposite of the stories of the previous applicants so I must self calm down and got relax too.

The 1st question is “tell me something about your self?” hehehhhehe! what a common question. The most of the question were generally about my family backgound, written on my resume and the hardest is the technical situational skills.

The interview took a long of 20 to 3o minutes. and guess what?! (drumrolls) I was qualified and chosen one. The company give me immediate the offersheet and I was surprise about it.

Thank you for all the prayers and my prayers granted.

Work Abroad 2

The moment has come.

Still here in the office preparing for my interview tomorrow. I wish and keep on praying that I pass the interview. I’m doing some research for interview tips and asking some of my friends/ office mate who’d work before in abroad especially in Middle East area. The agency give me a hint its  panel interview and most them are from the Ministry of Manpower, Deans of Colleges and Department Head who’ll conduct the interview.

Wish me luck, pray for me and help me God!

Wedding Plans

wedding music“Yes, I was born for you and you were born for me…”

It is the part of the lyrics Born for you by David Pomeranz. My ex girlfriend (now my wife) choose this song as our wedding theme.  I should say the message of the song is good and the tune. In fact, my wife also favorite singer( David Pomeranz).

During the preparation, we do have lots of things doing and considered such as the church, reception, motif, principal sponsors, secondary, visitors and etc.

What we do is we go on different wedding exhibits, searching tru net, asking some friends and etc. Read More

Read this on those who plan for their wedding/ wedding preparation. Here is my personal guidelines:

  1. Wedding Date. Discuss it to your future wife/husband when would be the wedding day! so that you may make a early reservation/ schedule from the church.
  2. Consider the budget. How much the all the cost of the wedding? It includes the budget for the church, receptions, foods, wedding gowns, your daily iterenary just as personal inquiries need a fare and other surprise expenses. Give yourself at least 8-12 months preprations.

  3. Church Venue. In selecting a church it must be both near both party or depending on your personal choice. The availability of the wedding day coz You might encountered the wedding date and time were not available.
  4. Who will be your Principal and Secondary Sponsors? In selecting the Principal Sponsor is someone close to you and must have a good family person. In case they can give you a very good advice about married life. They all act as a second parents. Secondary sponsor is someone related to you either your cousin and closest friends.
  5. Couturier. If you have a huge budget you may go to a signature designer of your choice or if you want to save more of it try visit the Tutuban there are lots of RTW wedding dress or you may ask for a customize design of your choice.  The price standard package for groom, bride and to secondary sponsors depending on style and cloth be used.
  6. Receptions. This is among the expensive ones. You need to plan how many guest you have to accommodate? The food package?  If you plan for a resto or hotel the place mostly it is package already, but if the situation is to choose a catering services the venue is separated, most of them give you an option to there partners venue.
  7. Video/ Photo coverage. For a memory sake there must be a video/ photo coverage of your wedding. I suggest visit most of the wedding exhibit at the malls. Most of the exhibit give a huge discount and sometimes more freebies.
  8. Wedding Preparation Venues. This is optional and last. If you may have a budget why don’t you spend a day you and you partner to a 3 star to 5 star Hotel.  This is commonly practice and most of them is very good ambiance for photo/ video shooting on the day of wedding.

Best wishes and hope this help.

Work Abroad

Way back July this year. Sunday morning the Manila Bulletin Newspaper were delivered by a newspaper boy to me then il tell myself tp browse a job opportunity for abroad upon browsing. I make it a habit to apply on email instead of going totheir respective offices. I’ve notice on a upper part portion of classified ads a small box for the position of Instructor. At first I was hesitant because of high qualification (drumroll) but still I stood up to apply eventhough Im not masteral graduate(no guts. no glory) then I used to emailed it. Nothing to loose and theres no harm of trying.

After a month I was little bit surprise the company considered me as one of the applicant for the Instructor position and received a form form the company to filled it up and reply it back to them.

Wish me luck!
